Saturday meetup brainstorming

Wayward is still closed, and there's no clear idea of when it's re-opening (which is a sad thing indeed). I'd love to get Saturday meetups going again, but to do that we need to find some place else, at least for now.

Does anyone have suggestions for new venues? In the past I think it worked well to have the two meetups in different parts of town, so even if one location wasn't convenient for someone the other one might be. But if we wound up with both on Capitol Hill, that wouldn't be the end of the world.

Another option would be switching off Saturday to a different day, which I'm happy to entertain if there's interest -- the venue question still stands.

Don't be shy: if you have ideas or opinions, speak up.

(To be clear, none of this would replace Thursday at Gamma Ray. Saturday meetups would be an addition, just like before.)

Does anybody know where the other groups meeting at the Wayward have gone?

Oooh, that's a good question. One place I was considering was Cafe Racer, and coincidentally I do think some of the Browncoats meet there now.

Hi Folks,

The Thursday group I participate in has moved to Greenlake Games, over on 75th and Aurora. Should we take a look at their Saturday hours? Best Wishes, Manu

Manu, how does the space look for multiple small games? I was in there once on their board game night and it looked they had multiple tables, but I couldn't tell how many separate tables it could reasonably hold.

There is something to be said for a place where you can get food and drink.

There were at least three tables available, probably more. They do let you bring food in, and there are a few restaurants in the area.

However, I also found this exciting piece of news: http://www.phinneywoo... It appears Berserk Games is moving to a large 6000 sq ft space where they'll have a dedicated play area and even a cafe! Problem is it isn't scheduled until April, but still it's promising.

Just posted a meetup at Cafe Racer for Sat March 12. Let's try it out and see what people think.

Will there be a Sat. meetup in April? How did Cafe Racer work out?

There's always AFK Tavern in Everett (I know super far...); they have food and drinks and lots of tables.

I'm waiting to hear back from Cafe Racer about their calendar. I'm shooting for Saturday Apr 2 & Apr 16
