What We Played: Our Lady Indus (Polaris)

We did the standard two Heart-Mistaken pairs:

Pevo (Angelo) a bold young knight unknowingly fated to a matyr's death, sent on a ill-fated mission to help (and doom) a neighboring city by his Mistaken-taken lord-knight (Jered). Quoth the ambassador: "Hey, we asked for aid, not some cursed knight bringing even more doom!"

Indus (Ansley), exiled from her home city, after wandering the icy wastes she is welcomed as a savior of a beleaguered city. Though some fear she brings trouble with her, wise (and Mistaken-tainted) Chancellor Hydrus (Ben) celebrates her victories and puts the novice knight in charge of the entire city's defense.

I'll let Jered and Angelo talk about Pevo's adventures, but Indus went full-on tragic. Tempted by the unquestioning loyalty of her new followers, she supplanted the rulers of the city. Egged on by her fervent (and Mistaken-tainted) warriors' desire to purge the Mistake, and their conviction that she was the messiah that could do it, she led the entire populace on a suicidal crusade. Literally, every man, woman and child was marched into the blizzards to attack the Mistake where they lived, at the very top of the world...

I really liked Indus -- now leading Mistaken armies to destroy the home city she was exiled from originally -- facing off against her brother Orion (played by Jered). That's where the conflict system paid off, and Indus wound up killing her brother when he lowered his sword, trusting that his own sister wouldn't kill him. That led to Indus flipping back the other way and crushing her own Mistaken army and saving the city she was attacking, then wandering back into the wastes, an exile again...

Thanks Ansley and Angelo for bravely jumping in and trying story games.
