A bunch of new faces, so we played straight Polaris for a change, starlight swords and all.

Alioth the bull-headed warrior (John) was stymied in his desire for promotion and a chance to lead the battle against the Mistaken (Phil). His commander and mentor, Caelum, was hesitant, but a bolder (and Mistaken) captain, Pictor, gave him an opportunity. This angered Pictor's loyal lieutenant, Situla, who did not hide her resentment that outsider was taking her captain's favor. Insults were exchanged whenever Alioth and Situla met, until Alioth finally scored with a winning insult that unleashed her murderous rage...

After declining to execute the traitor Pyxis in favor of some (harsh) interrogation to uncover the hiding place of his co-conspirators, Alundra "the Maiden" (Jase) led her knights deep into the icy wastes, only to be ambushed and surrounded by an overwhelming force of demons ("it's a trap!"). When her hot-headed lieutenant, Rana, refused to retreat and led half the knights forward on her own, Alundra's forces were split and the others were never seen again, a tragedy that haunted Alundra and tarnished her reputation as a leader of knights...

We also switched antagonist and protagonist on the last turn just so everyone could get a feel for what the other side was like. Polaris conflicts are always a little tricky at first and we got caught up in some scenes narrating more than role-playing, but overall nicely done.
Story Games Seattle was rebooted in March 2010 as a weekly public meetup group for playing GMless games. It ran until March 2018, hosting over 600 events with a wide range of attendees.

Our charter was: Everyone welcome. Everyone equal. No experience necessary.
