What We Played: The sun never sets on the British Empire (Microscope)

We're getting settled in at the Capitol Club when we discover that the table is packed with diehard Sherlock Holmes fans. Can we take advantage of that enthusiasm and spin it into a Microscope history? Of course we can!

We decide on an alternate history Earth where the British Empire never declines, starting with England throwing off the influence of the Roman Catholic Church and ending with British scientists mastering space travel and fleeing this dreary Earth. Britain Über Astro!

Most of our play was actually in the colonies, as we explored exactly how the would-be separatists of America failed in their Revolution against the British Empire. We find that Daniel Boone has lost some of his edge, all because of a woman, and that Teddy Roosevelt (Governor Roosevelt, that is) plays hardball to what he wants. We also find that Peter does a wicked Teddy Roosevelt impression.

If we had more time, I really wanted to go back and make an earlier scene showing that the woman in Major Albright's quarters (who Natalie played) was a spy. But for who..?
Story Games Seattle was rebooted in March 2010 as a weekly public meetup group for playing GMless games. It ran until March 2018, hosting over 600 events with a wide range of attendees.

Our charter was: Everyone welcome. Everyone equal. No experience necessary.
