What We Played: Mall Christmas (Freeasco)

It's the holiday season at "The Shore" a crappy (landlocked) mall in Burbank.
We each made 3 relationships, 3 objects, 3 needs, and 3 locations.
We doubled up on objects/needs/locations and that turned out to be cool.
We also did a "Draw 2, choose 1" thing with the cards.
We ended up with:

Relationships:
Security guard & store owner
Smalltime teenaged drug-dealer and client
Head elf and santa photographer
Needs:
To get the 'hot' kid's toy at any cost
To get laid by hot elf
Objects:
Unopened xmas present left in mall by unknown person(s)
Actual reindeer antlers

So - Dexter "Diesel" Jeffries (Fred) is the teenaged drug-dealer and head elf.
Kaleb McCreight is the owner of the photography studio in the mall, who has arranged this year's Santa event.
And Ryan Shoemaker is security guard, ex-cop, and Dexter's client

The game begins with Kaleb and Ryan arguing about what to do with this unopened christmas present. A bomb? Or just put it in the lost and found? They punt, deciding what to do with it later. Kaleb wants his antlers back from a coffee shop that stole them and threatens to fire Dexter if he doesn't get them for him. Dexter enlists Ryan's help in return for drugs - he borrows Ryan's uniform and comes to the mall at night, but after a mishap on the roof (where he runs into Kaleb, spying on the girl-elf changing room) he ends up leaving his uniform jacket stuck in the A/C system. He gets the antlers, Kaleb gets the present (and a 'radish patch kid') from Ryan's safe, and the jacket catches fire. Kaleb, hitting on Amy in his home, invites her to open the strange present. It turns out to be a human head - someone we haven't seen before. And then Kaleb's wife comes home. Both Dexter and Ryan spend some a night or two in jail after blaming each other for the mall fire, but Kaleb trumps that with real time.
In the end, Kaleb does hard time; Dexter expands his drug ring; and Ryan kicks his habit and somehow gets back on the force. (1, 16, and 15 on the aftermath tables. Maybe we've learned how to 'win')

My first freeasco! It's pretty great. Who needs a 'bad santa' playset when you can just make one up ad hoc?
