Happy Ending (Shock)

Just kidding - we played Shock over on the Eastside. Jim's issue was "right to vote" - we lived in a dystopian society that had more or less taken it away - and my character ended his arc by revealing that martial law was enacted on a false pretense; then Jim's character got himself finally declared sane (and therefore allowed to vote again) only to die; and then Andy's character, who had been running for president under the broken system, buddied up with the military in the new world, and ended up being president anyway. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. Literally. My character almost died in his ending, but I think it's even more poignant that he gets to live in the world seeing how little change happened despite his revolution.

We jammed through Shock, by the way - played the whole game in three hours. Shock can play quick if you treat the first thing that sounds kind of like a conflict as a conflict.

Also, possible good new house rule - when making your characters, you get to assign 3 or 8 to one praxis and 5 or 6 to the other. Done.
Story Games Seattle was rebooted in March 2010 as a weekly public meetup group for playing GMless games. It ran until March 2018, hosting over 600 events with a wide range of attendees.

Our charter was: Everyone welcome. Everyone equal. No experience necessary.
