The Wrath of Poseidon (Shooting the Moon)

Our setting: A vaguely defined alternate history Age of Sail, with Greek/Macedonian civilization evidently still ascendant. A hidden island, full of monsters and legendary treasure.
Our characters: Thessalonica Reines, the uncatchable pirate, favored by Poseidon. Her first mate, Artemis, pining for professional and romantic recognition. Her arch rival, Captain Alexopoulos, loyal officer in the Emperor's navy.

Our plot: Mostly ridiculous melodrama and monster fighting. Alexopoulos captured Thessa, but Art rescued her before they even had time for a sexually charged interrogation scene. Thessa and Art talked the island's Harpy into taking off after Alexopoulos, but then Thessa felt bad about it and went to rescue him. The Harpy cheerfully announced that Alexopoulos was secretly in love with Thessa, causing his men to turn on him, and the pirates carried him off into the mountains to continue their treasure hunt. In the end, Art got her hands on the treasure, a fragment of Odysseus' ship, finally proving her worth to Thessa and earning a romantic happily ever after. Alexopoulos was killed in the escape, and was condemned by Poseidon to haunt Thessa and Art's ship and aid them in their piracy.

Verdict: A normal game of Shooting the Moon. We told a neat, fast paced story, and nothing very unexpected happened either way.
Story Games Seattle was rebooted in March 2010 as a weekly public meetup group for playing GMless games. It ran until March 2018, hosting over 600 events with a wide range of attendees.

Our charter was: Everyone welcome. Everyone equal. No experience necessary.
