We decided to do Sci Fi + Comedy. Our Kingdom was the "Bootstrap Society" (BS for short), a private organization devoted to getting all those backwards aliens up to speed, even if the Federation didn't like it. Our motto was: “Taking you from the Bronze Age to the Lazer Age!” (yes, lazer with a zed).

We taught the natives how to flip burgers and embrace capitalism. We flattened their traditional institutions and when they didn't like it we armed some natives to shoot the others. To help them! Yep, we were intentionally playing clueless jerks. Gloriously culturally-insensitive.

Huge points to Leo for jumping in *after* the setup and playing great anyway. In my mind that's a recipe for disaster: it's critical that everyone is involved in game setup and picking a concept and tone that interests them, but nope, we were like "guess what Leo, it's sci fi-comedy uplift and here's all the stuff we already established." Seriously, not an ideal situation and even very experienced players might have a hard time getting in the zone. But Leo jumped in, got up to speed and was extremely critical in establishing a more "ethical" side to our organization. Nicely done!
Story Games Seattle was rebooted in March 2010 as a weekly public meetup group for playing GMless games. It ran until March 2018, hosting over 600 events with a wide range of attendees.

Our charter was: Everyone welcome. Everyone equal. No experience necessary.
