I just joined the Meetup group today, but already wrote a fairly extensive post on my Facebook wall that very night before I got a chance to read and comprehend how the discussions here work. I just know that someone mentioned writing a write-up after our game. So this time I'll just copy and paste my wall post. Apparently these are more about "what happened at the table, not in the fiction". I'll do that next time.

-----------------

No jam session this week either... (I have not mentioned last week's jam session, or rather lack thereof, in a previous post. Just sort of starting in medias res.) But another Thursday night of story games, so that's cool. I facilitated Microscope again. Bought the rulebook book this time. It was good.

I think it's gotten better each week. I don't know if I've gotten better, or I've just learned to enjoy myself more, or if I've just gotten lucky and had better and better games. I think last week's had more awesome top moments, but I think this week's was an all around better ride with consistently entertaining moments and fewer unpleasant bumps or lulls.

So we had a well meaning and benevolent alien Galactic Emperor who rules with a literal iron fist that he summons out of thin air using psionic powers, but who is not without faults. He strongly opposes the use of a recreational drug called green leaf which despite the obvious parallel is nor marijuana, but a substance the aliens rub on their heads, and which although having some potential negative effects is for the most part liked and used by the galactic citizens.

All of Earth's federal world leaders were given psionic powers by the aliens for the betterment of mankind. JFK used these powers to survive his assassination attempt by stopping the bullet in mid air inches from his face. Most of them used the powers to fight each other to the point of mutual destruction, upon which Gandhi restored peace and agriculture in the world, much of the crop being green leaf. But because the psionic powers are technological in nature, much like in the hit video game Civilization Gandhi's exceedingly even temperament caused a variable in the neurological psionic circuits to overflow and make him launch nuclear missiles at the Galactic Emperor's space summer cottage.

We have vampires who are actually just one variation of the psionic powers given to humans by aliens in an attempt to make life saving blood transfusions more efficient. Some of them decided to rebel against the Galactic Emperor's dictatorial rule not to take over, but to return space to its natural lawless state. Mordac the vampire became leader of the revolution after killing off the vampire leader who was democratically elected by the rebel group.

At one point the more malevolent vampires started infecting the aliens, and in a show of solidarity and appreciation for how the aliens have benefited humanity, the world leaders of Earth formed the Vampire Hunting Task Force and eradicated some pretty nasty twisted looking alien vampire hybrids.

Mordac thought he could surpass the Galactic Emperor's iron fist with a giant magnet, which deflected at least 2 fists, but it turns out the emperor has a lot more where those came from.

Despite his general benevolence, at some point the Galactic Emperor promoted delicious Galactic Burgers which happened to contain an ingredient that suppresses psionic powers in an attempt to cement his rule.

At some point, vampires from liberal arts colleges decided to go on an intergalactic road trip and expressed themselves and their art by painting space graffiti on ancient alien artifacts using blood.

At the end of it all, the aliens condemn humans to remain permanently on Earth without any capacity to leave.

In the end, I suppose humanity just wasn't ready for psionic powered world leaders vampire space drug cartels psychic Gandhi literal iron fisted benevolent galactic dictator.
Story Games Seattle was rebooted in March 2010 as a weekly public meetup group for playing GMless games. It ran until March 2018, hosting over 600 events with a wide range of attendees.

Our charter was: Everyone welcome. Everyone equal. No experience necessary.
